Terms and Conditions
- When booking, you will need at least 6 weeks prior to your wedding to make sure that there is plenty of time to get the ring hallmarked, or 8 weeks if you would like engraving or stones set. Rings can be made in a shorter time frame, but this may incur additional costs. Please check at time of booking.
- To book, a £50 non-refundable deposit is payable. Payments can be made by BACS, credit/debit card or cash.
- The outstanding balance must be paid in full at least 14 days before the date you have booked. Your raw materials will not be purchased until your balance has been paid; therefore, if payment is late it may mean needing to postpone your day.
- You will be given the start time for the workshop in advance; if you are more than 1 hour late, an additional fee of £50 will be added to the balance for the additional time incurred.
- The final decisions on what you wish to make need to be decided and finalised with The Jewellery Cottage at least 14 days in advance; as all metal needs to be ordered, this is vital in making sure that the correct metal and the correct amount of metal is ordered in preparation for your day.
- In the unlikely event that Mark cannot run the workshop, a stand-in tutor could be used.
- In the unlikely event The Jewellery Cottage would need to rearrange your day, Mark will notify you as soon as possible and rearrange it for the soonest available date to suit you. If no suitable dates are available, you will receive a full refund. We are not able to accept any liability for any other costs incurred to you (for example, travel or hotel expenses).
- Should you need to change your day, the new date would need to be no later than 3 months after your original date. Changes beyond this time scale will be at the discretion of the Jewellery Cottage and may incur additional charge.
- In the case that the date needs to be changed in the two weeks prior to the experience, a £50 fee will be charged.
- On the day you will need to wear sensible clothing and flat, closed toe shoes. Long hair must be tied back. No alcohol is to be consumed during the ring making process.
- We will have the copyright to all photos we take during the workshops; we will give you permission to use the photos for personal use, but if using for commercial reasons you must ask for our permission first and you must credit the workshop.
- The cost of your rings, including any engraving, stones and setting, must be paid for on the day either by BACS cash or credit/debit card.
- All bespoke and customised orders are non-refundable and non-returnable.
- Any changes, issues, or problems with your rings must be mentioned on the “make your own day” before you leave the workshop.
- Your wedding rings will be made to fit on the day, you may find after wearing them that they need to be adjusted. We will size your ring 1 size either way free of charge up to 3 months after the date of your wedding. Any return postage must be paid for in advance.
- Your rings will need to be sent to the Assay Office after they have been made to be hallmarked; this is a legal requirement and means that you will not be able to take your rings away on the day.
